Introducing Metro Pro, the only fully wireless, temporary traffic signal system to feature permanent signalling technology.

Metro Pro is yet another ground-breaking development from Traffic Group Signals, a fully cable-less temporary signalling system designed for use in complex and critical roadwork environments, featuring permanent signalling technology. It has been successfully deployed for haul route crossings, major motorway junction reinstatements and critical urban infrastructure projects, keeping traffic flowing on sites which handle tens of thousands of vehicles per day.

Metro makes a statement with its full height signal pole and conspicuous white bases with high visibility red band, that conform to regulatory requirements and improve public and driver perception. It is fully wireless, making it fast to deploy, easy to service and free of the costs and risks associated with overhead and underground cabled systems.

Metro Pro delivers a host of performance benefits, including seamless UTC integration and permanent signalling functions to include stage-based signalling, Walk with Traffic and CLF plan support.

Purpose-built Temporary Signal Controller

The purpose-built Metro Pro controller has been designed to provide maximum performance with full signal control. All roadside configuration has been removed, making it impossible to change signal timings on-site without the correct procedure being followed. Instead, signal schemes are designed in Signal Studio and approved by persons of authority, before being remotely transmitted to the Metro Pro controller. All the operative needs to do is load the scheme and initiate.

Our signal planning software can be used to design, simulate and send stage-based signal timing plans from the office directly to the master controller on-site.

With Metro Pro, you can deliver more efficient sites with permanent style signalling and prevent unwanted roadside configurations.

Metro Pro has been specifically designed to minimise congestion at roadworks through advanced signalling and detection methods.

Endurance Battery Management System.

Metro Pro features the Endurance onboard battery monitoring system (BMS) which optimises the power management of the signal and extends battery life.

The Endurance BMS ensures optimum signal run-time and provides users with feedback on battery health and remaining capacity for each battery.

Fully wireless, permanent-style temporary signalling on a motorway junction that handles over 80,000 vehicles per day. Metro Pro made the impossible possible with a complex configuration that seamlessly linked over 40 signals. The project ran for 7 months across three works phases, with a new scheme design required to accommodate changes in the site layout. The site notably remained fully operational and withstood extreme conditions during the UK’s highest ever windspeed recorded during Storm Eunice.
