Visibly Safer

Metro offers contractors a safer, wireless, temporary traffic control system that provides high performance and reliability.

Metro Master is designed for use in road work environments where heightened safety is required, such as haul route crossings, high speed roads and standalone pedestrian crossings.

The Metro system makes a statement with its full height signal pole and conspicuous white bases with high visibility red band, that conform to regulatory requirements and improve public and driver perception.

The Metro Master temporary controller is designed for standalone temporary signal installations that do not require complex signalling arrangements, such as standalone pedestrian crossings, low volume junctions and simple haul route crossings.

Fast, No Nonsense Deployment

Metro is quick to deploy, with only 2 components to assemble at the roadside and no cables.

The minimal construction and wireless connectivity mean that Metro can be installed by a small team without full road closures and without the need for specialist equipment. The reliable radio-linked connectivity eliminates the need for overhead or underground cabling, so does not impact on civils work being carried out on site. The absence of overhead cables also means the units are not at risk of being pulled down by tall vehicles or inclement weather.

The Metro Master is configured roadside using an intuitive interface, which displays the battery, communications and signalling status of the connected signals.

Designed to Stand Out

Conspicuous, white bases with high visibility red band help Metro stand out, improving driver and pedestrian perception. The compact size leaves no sharp or low protruding edges that would otherwise pose a risk to partially sighted or disabled road users.

It features adjustable legs for uneven surfaces and double-entry design for easy maintenance and battery access. The base unit accommodates two controller models (e.g. Metro Signal plus Metro Master) to allow for different head configurations.

Dedicated Master Controller

The Metro Master features diagnostics and signal/battery monitoring for all connected signals, and is normally supplied headless or as part of a standalone Pedestrian crossing system. The independent lamp and tactile monitoring ensures pedestrian safety is paramount. Metro Master features a unique Crossing mode for Haul Route crossings, and uses a configurable AGD306 FMCW radar system for high speed road support.

PHASE-BASED SIGNALLING i

A common, turn-based method of signalling.

STAGE-BASED SIGNALLING i

Stage Signalling consists of a series of non-conflicting phases which run together. This allows for greater movement of vehicles. (Evo1 Pro and Metro Pro only)

-
ACTIVE CHANNEL MANAGEMENT i

Active Channel Management improves the reliability of temporary traffic signal communications through dynamic channel hopping and automated recovery modes. ACM is becoming a must-have feature in urban locations where radio congestion is high.

WALK WITH TRAFFIC i

Traffic and Vehicle phases are able to run at the same time (Metro Pro only).
